HOW IT ALL STARTED

Before there was Yelp, Thumbtack, and Home Advisor, way back in 1999 there was “Jim’s Connections program.” Early every morning Jim’s phone would start ringing with people asking for recommendations for contractors or other professionals they could trust. Our Director Jim Saracino would go to our list of trusted contractors and professionals and put the two in touch. Now after thousands of referrals to satisfied customers, most just go to our Website MyLasVegasConnections.com or our Home Benefits magazine to find the right person for the job.
The original Connections program started within our real estate company as a way to help new homeowners find reputable and affordable contractors for their projects. Since many of our customers were new to Las Vegas or first-time buyers they did not have the connections we did and they were looking for people they could trust. We are also a source for other local trusted professionals outside of the home improvement industry and have added many to our list of businesses we can highlight.
While many websites have reviews of their advertisers we still do most of our program with a personal touch and thereby avoid the fake reviews and other manufactured reputations that are so common on the Internet. We get feedback about our contractors and constantly focus to make sure the quality service we expect is being delivered to the customer.

Since 1999 this program has been one of the best kept secrets in Las Vegas and marketed exclusively and internally to REALTOR’s and their clients of some of the largest real estate companies in Las Vegas.    It is now available to all residents of the Las Vegas valley through MyLasVegasConnections.com, which is our Website for anyone who needs a connection to reputable contractors and other local businesses.   

Almost all of our contractors and other professionals that come into the program were referred to us by satisfied customers.   We check qualifications like proper licensing, insurance, and bonding to screen them even further.  We contact the Better Business Bureau as well as the Nevada state contractors board for information.   We are very proud that in all these years we have only had to remove a few companies that did not meet our standards of customer service.   While we have no direct control over  them, we insist that the contractors deliver real value along with honesty and integrity when working with our customers.     The vast majority of our customer experiences are very positive.

Our founder and current president Mike West is a native Las Vegan and started Century 21 MoneyWorld in 1992: where he grew it into a top 10 real estate franchise in the United States that sold over 40,000 homes. “Our clients were always asking us to recommend home improvement contractors to them," says Mike.” With over 300 agents that was a challenge so we streamlined and made it into a program within our company to help ensure quality and consistency with our recommendations.
